Abbott Ireland Diagnostic Division – Longford:
The Longford facility plays a key role in helping Abbott to meet the increasing global demand for diagnostic testing in areas such as infectious disease, cancer, thyroid, and cardiovascular diseases.

Longford is based in the midlands of Ireland surrounded by water with the River Shannon, Lough Ree and the Royal Canal. It has a vibrant collection of communities with a rich historical background. The County has plenty to offer to both visitors and citizens in sport, culture, literature, amenities, festivals, events, retail and dining.

We have an exciting opportunity as an Associate Quality Professional working in our Quality Department and this role will involve the following:

Primary Function

Support quality activities to ensure the delivery of compliant, high-quality products, processes, and documentation in line with regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks that support business and quality objectives.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and follow site procedures.
  • Support GMP adherence and identify basic process improvements.
  • Review and approve documentation such as process orders and inspection records.
  • Perform incoming inspection of materials/components where applicable.
  • Apply basic risk management principles and support risk documentation (e.g. FMEAs).
  • Assist with complaint investigations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support change control activities, including documentation and implementation.
  • Participate in design control and validation activities as required.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Escalate non-compliance issues appropriately.

Education & Experience:

  • Apprenticeship or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with 0-2 years’ relevant experience.

Key Skills:

  • Basic understanding of regulatory requirements in a healthcare/medical device environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
