Job Description

Overview:

This is an opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented Digital Asset Manager to contribute in a critical role of shaping how HKS manages and delivers its visual content across practices including healthcare, hospitality, venues, and the built environment.

In this freelance position, you’ll bring structure and clarity to a growing library of images, video, and digital files—ensuring every asset is thoughtfully curated, properly formatted, and easy to discover. You’ll apply a strong visual sensibility to select the most compelling imagery and footage, while also managing the technical side of asset preparation, including file conversion to precise specifications.

Through meticulous tagging, metadata management, and system organization, you’ll enable teams across the firm to quickly find and use the right content. Your work will directly support storytelling efforts across brand and comms by ensuring that the highest-quality, most relevant assets are always accessible and ready for use.

Responsibilities:

  • Process, upload and tag media into digital asset library
  • Work with sector leads, designers and media team to refine and streamline asset workflow and cataloging
  • Work with media team to ensure asset standards and categorizations are clear
  • Influence taxonomy based on usage needs
  • Monitor system performance and make asset management recommendations

What sets you apart:

  • You have prior, proven experience as a digital asset manager
  • You identify a clear “best of” assets for leaders to review
  • You are responsible and share regular updates on progress
  • You’re both efficient and effective organizing as well as batching assets for upload
  • You think through the tagging based on prior searches and proactively elevate new tags too
  • You care deeply about the quality of the work and the success of the team

What's expected:

  • 40 hours a week, working in our HKS Dallas office
  • Will sit in the production area, using an HKS-provided computer and software
  • Working closely with our production team daily
  • Regular check-ins to review selects, sizing of assets for upload, and tagging

Qualifications:

  • Impeccable organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and media from a variety of sources
  • In depth understanding of video and image formats and when appropriate to use each
  • An understanding of legal issues around visual assets and how they apply to a variety of use cases
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct DAM user training and guidance
  • Understanding of Adobe video and photography editing software
  • Familiarity with Open Asset a plus
