Reporting into the Head of Global Security, the Manager of Global Investigations will support all lines of business related to investigations (e.g. Platform Fraud, Community Safety, Law Enforcement Liaison & Partnerships, Insurance Fraud and Executive Protection & Risk Assessment). This role will manage the Global Investigations Team. The Manager of Global Investigations will efficiently and effectively build strong and meaningful relationships with internal business partners, law enforcement agencies, and other third parties to bring successful case resolution.
This role regularly interacts with State/County/Local Law Enforcement in developing comprehensive and detailed cases pertaining to organized offenders and provides expertise to and gains buy-in from Law Enforcement Agencies to assist in the safe apprehension of these offenders.
Responsibilities:
- Work in close partnership with the Head of Global Security to set strategic objectives, drive accountability, and ensure successful delivery of key performance metrics
- Lead and manager Global Investigations Team
- Design, build and lead a global law enforcement outreach program, in order to regularly liaise and develop strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies
- Proactively maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement and government authorities
- Collaborate and build strong relationships with internal cross-functional partners, including Privacy/Identity/Integrity (PII), Risk, Community Safety, Legal, Public Policy, and other Operations teams and leaders across Lyft
- Plan and execute educational programs for law enforcement authorities on our business and challenges with external theft and loss
- Learn and develop a deep understanding of the businesses and activities related to Platform Fraud, Community Safety, Law Enforcement, Liaison & Partnerships, Insurance Fraud and Executive Protection & Risk Assessment
- Conduct and lead complex theft investigations related to organized crime and advise internal leaders and business partners
- Support different theft and loss initiatives being driven across the bikes and scooters line of business
- Act as a true thought leader by understanding trends in organized theft, and proactively driving continuous improvement across the company
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Lyft's policies and practices in close partnership with internal cross-functional partners, including Privacy/Identity/Integrity (PII), Risk, Community Safety, Legal, Public Policy, and other Operations teams and leaders
- Assist with threat and risk assessments, investigations, mitigation, and protection efforts for Executive Protection
- Assist other business lines at Lyft with community outreach activities and initiatives as needed
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Experience:
- Extensive experience working with law enforcement authorities (bonus points for interfacing with international law enforcement agencies)
- Significant experience in organized retail crime (ORC) detection and law enforcement partnerships
- Ability to gain buy in from Law Enforcement to resolve ORC investigations and knowledge and expertise in preparing for and testifying in Local/State/Federal Court
- Investigative experience identifying, resolving, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending deterrent enhancements
- Ability to participate, conduct, lead surveillance with law enforcement as it relates to large and complex external cases
- Must be able to gain buy in and support of multiple partners to ensure successful investigations
- Outstanding written, verbal, electronic communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to track, prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects
- Strong problem-solver with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
- Bachelor’s degree or some higher education (preferred)

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule following the establishment of a Lyft office in Nashville — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The expected base pay range for this position in the Nashville area is $108,240 - $135,300, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
