About the role

Position Summary

The Initial Assessment Clinician will support Centria's mission and growth by conducting initial assessments for new clients. This role will ensure treatment fidelity and provide quality service by helping to educate the client and families on the importance of ABA therapy and assisting in the smooth transition of services to the Supervising Clinician.

Success Measures

Success measures include the timely completion of initial assessments and adherence to compliance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  1. Conduct Initial Assessments.
    • VP-MAPP, AFLS, Essentials for Living, ABLLS, etc., for new families needing services.
    • Complete the contracted number of Initial Assessments per week.
  2. Meet required timeline for submission.
    • All assessments must be submitted within five (5) days of completion.
  3. Work directly with the families and legal guardians to educate them on the importance of ABA therapy and Comprehensive Treatment Planning.
  4. Assist in a smooth transition of care/relationship to the Supervising Clinician, as needed.
  5. Keep client profiles up to date within CareConnect.
  6. Review COMS report weekly to identify new referrals and schedule travel/appointments accordingly. Communicate with the Operations Team and Field Staff Managers to inform them of schedule confirmations and report completion.
  7. Promote the growth of Centria Healthcare and assist in the pursuit of business opportunities.
    • Build relationships with current referral sources.
    • Pursue and build relationships with new referral partners.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited university in acceptance with BACB guidelines
  • Completion of 8-hour supervision course, or willing to complete within first 30 days

License/Certification

  • BCBA certification from the BACB, in good standing
  • Active state license, in good standing, when applicable

Work Experience

  • 1+ years working with children and autism spectrum disorders
  • Previous supervision experience, preferred
  • Crisis management experience, preferred

Equipment and Technology Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of laptop and mobile devices such as iPads
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Proficiency in G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Google Meet)
  • ABA platforms, preferred

  • Ability to follow written instructions
  • Ability to use computers and computer/software programs
  • Ability to communicate expressively and receptively
  • Must pass all qualifications for the Foundations of Care Certification mentorship within 9 months of hire or mentorship starting.

  • ABA clinical knowledge and experience;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to synthesize a variety of clinical and social data to determine an appropriate diagnosis, treatment plan and monitor effectiveness of treatment programs;
  • Ability to effectively engage in one-to-one communication with parents and clients;
  • Expertise in tracking and ensuring clinical outcomes, progress, and maintaining a high level of compliance;
  • Ability to seamlessly transition between strategic and hands-on responsibilities;
  • Proven experience and understanding of customer service;
  • Works well in a collaborative environment and builds mutual trust and credibility at all levels of the organization;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with clients, internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivated to achieve business goals;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;

  • Proven strong work ethic with attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

Working Conditions

  • Centria's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with primary hours conducted after school hours (3:00 PM – 8:00 PM).
  • Additional time or flex schedules may be required to complete the above work or meet company objectives.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to a client who exhibits physically aggressive behavior, which can include kicking, pinching, punching, biting, hitting, etc. The team member may need to use appropriate behavior management techniques with a client, which requires agility, quick reflexes, strength, the ability to run and restrain the child, and the ability to use physically evasive movement. The team member will be required to stand, walk, sit, grasp, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, lift and carry the child, hear, type, see, and write. The team member must be able to push independently, pull, lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
