The Planning & Billing Engineer is responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and preparation of client/contractor bills to ensure timely project execution and accurate financial tracking. The role also supports project controls by coordinating with site teams, monitoring costs, and ensuring compliance with contractual and project timelines.

About the Role:

  • Prepare, update, and monitor the overall project schedule using MS Project (MSP), ensuring alignment with project milestones and contractual timelines.
  • Develop detailed baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, and recovery schedules to support project execution.
  • Monitor project progress against planned schedules and identify delays, critical activities, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate with the site execution team, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure timely progress updates and effective planning.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
  • Measure work quantities and prepare client bills, contractor bills, and subcontractor payment certifications in accordance with contract provisions.
  • Verify executed quantities with site records and ensure accurate billing documentation.
  • Monitor project costs, budget utilization, and productivity, highlighting cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing rate analyses, variation orders, extra item claims, and extension of time (EOT) documentation.
  • Maintain billing records, project documentation, and MIS reports to support financial and project controls.
  • Coordinate with procurement, commercial, and finance teams to ensure timely certification and processing of invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and organizational processes.
  • Support project management in forecasting, resource planning, and achieving project milestones within schedule and budget.

About You:

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in Planning & Billing for commercial, residential, or high-rise building projects.
  • Proficient in MS Project (MSP), AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, billing procedures, quantity estimation, and construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of project controls, progress monitoring, BOQ, rate analysis, and contract management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment while managing multiple priorities.
