We’re looking for a Team Leader to join our new global Windows Engineering Support Hub based in Gniezno. This role will be key in establishing a new department supporting engineering activities for global organizations, offering a unique opportunity to build a team from the ground up and shape its processes and ways of working.
As Team Leader, you will build, guide, and develop the team while implementing effective tools, systems, and processes. By coordinating technical activities, supporting engineers, and driving continuous improvement, you will contribute to higher productivity, improved quality, and stronger collaboration across VELUX Window Product Development.
This is a chance to define how the department operates and foster a strong, service-oriented team culture focused on delivering value together.
Meet your Team
The Team Lead will guide a team of four (two documentation specialists and two engineers), ensuring stable development environments, well-coordinated workflows, and a strong, customer-oriented service mindset toward engineering and project stakeholders.
We welcome candidates with previous experience in people coordination, but we are also open to individuals with strong potential who have taken on informal leadership or coordination responsibilities.
In addition to leadership duties, the role requires a strong focus on hands-on technical support, planning, and cross-functional coordination. You will enable development teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently and consistently.
The team in Poland will work closely with colleagues in Denmark, where most core development takes place, providing valuable international exposure from day one.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop the engineering support team, ensuring clear direction and accountability
- Manage onboarding and offboarding, ensuring smooth transitions and effective knowledge transfer
- Plan and prioritize workload, balancing daily operations with development tasks
- Act as the main coordination point for engineering support, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Build strong relationships with engineering leaders, project managers, and stakeholders
- Monitor performance and continuously improve team capabilities and service quality
- Ensure clarity in roles, responsibilities, and processes
- Support engineers with daily tasks and technical problem-solving
- Assist with development tools, systems, and engineering changes
- Maintain and update documentation, procedures, and guidelines
- Coordinate technical inputs across engineering, manufacturing, and projects
- Support audits, compliance, and design reviews
- Identify and implement improvements in processes, tools, and ways of working
- Promote knowledge sharing, training, and onboarding within the team
- Participate in some occasionally business trips
What you will bring into the organization:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- Certification in CAD/PDM/PLM tools
- 4–7 years of experience in a CAD specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in CAD/PDM tools (e.g. SolidWorks, SW-PDM) and CAD/PLM systems (e.g. Creo, Windchill)
- Experience in engineering support, development operations, or technical coordination
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or coordinating team activities (candidates without formal leadership titles but with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply)
- Good understanding of engineering systems, product development processes, and technical documentation
- Ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex technical information
- Comfortable working in cross-functional and international environments
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
We are looking for individuals with strong coordination and stakeholder management skills. In addition, you bring:
- A structured, analytical, and detail-oriented approach
- High motivation to drive success both individually and as part of a team
- A service-minded attitude with strong problem-solving skills
- A proactive, reliable mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- The ability to balance hands-on support with leadership responsibilities
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
