Job Description
About the Role
As a Junior QA Test Engineer based in Lisbon, you will join a growing Quality Engineering team responsible for validating Bose consumer products including headphones, earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, and home theater systems.
This is a hands-on, manual testing role focused on understanding how complex hardware and software systems behave in real-world conditions. You will help ensure new features, firmware updates, and system integrations perform reliably — especially across Bluetooth connectivity, audio workflows, and embedded systems.
You will work closely with software developers and senior QA engineers to learn how to evaluate system stability, identify edge cases, and uncover defects before products reach customers. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is curious, analytical, and motivated to build deep technical expertise in consumer electronics quality.
What You’ll Do
Execute High-Impact Manual Testing
Perform focused exploratory testing on high-risk and customer-critical areas
Execute structured manual test plans and document clear, reproducible results
Validate new features, firmware updates, and bug fixes across embedded and mobile-integrated systems
Test Bluetooth workflows including pairing, reconnect, stability, and interoperability scenarios
Investigate and Debug Issues
Apply both varopis testing techniques to understand how systems function and fail
Analyze logs, traces, and system behavior to help identify root causes
Collaborate with developers to reproduce and isolate defects
Contribute to Test Strategy & Improvement
Assist in defining effective test cases and regression coverage
Support functional, API, and system-level testing efforts
Learn how automation frameworks operate and contribute to improving test efficiency over time
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint-level quality discussions
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals and object-oriented design principles
Foundational knowledge of software testing methodologies and quality engineering principles
Familiarity with functional API testing
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to understand large-scale system architecture and how components interact
Basic understanding of Bluetooth technology
Exposure to embedded systems
Experience or coursework involving debugging tools or network analysis tools
