Nature of Work:

Under close supervision, performs limited electronic, electromechanical or mechanical production sub-assembly and assembly operations of a repetitive nature to build up by performing the following duties.

Overview of Responsibilities:

•       Perform routine tasks in preparation for machine operations and has multiple skill level for machining activities.

•       Handle more complex equipment and machinery.

•       Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

•       Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

•       Set up and operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic workpieces.

•       First article inspects and spot check throughout process to ensure quality of the part

•       Perform plastic assembly processes – manual to complex assemblies

•       Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

•       1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

•       Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

•       Ability to write simple correspondence.

•       Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings.

•       Ability to read and understand basic CNC programming G codes and M codes.

•       Ability to use different types of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges and pin gauges.

•       Experience in modern manufacturing tools techniques (CI, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)

•       Willing to do overtime and work on weekends and holidays.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.]

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
