About the Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Data Analyst to join our DA&I team. In this role, you will help transform raw and curated data into meaningful insights that support business decision‑making across Diageo. You will work with a variety of datasets, apply analytical techniques, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.

This role is ideal for an analyst with strong foundational skills who is looking to deepen their experience, grow technically, and contribute to high‑value analytical work.

Responsibilities:

·       Collect, clean, and transform datasets from multiple sources to support analytics and reporting.

·       Develop, maintain, and enhance datasets, data systems, and simple data pipelines.

·       Perform exploratory data analysis, identify trends, profile data and generate regular analytical outputs.

·       Identify and explore solutions for data issues on various data sources

·       Work with cross‑functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

·       Document data processes, logic, and analytical methodologies in a clear and structured way.

·       Monitor data quality, flag issues, and contribute to continuous data quality improvements.

·       Stay informed about emerging analytics practices, tools, and techniques.

·       Support the evolution of DA&I capabilities, processes, and ways of working.

 

Skills and qualifications:

 

Must haves:

·       Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, etc.).

·       5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role

·       Basic proficiency in SQL and strong understanding of Excel for data manipulation and analysis.

·       Basic understanding of relational databases and fundamental data warehousing concepts.

·       Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.

·       Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

·       Proactive, curious, and eager to learn new skills and technologies.

 

Nice to have:

·       Basic understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and collaboration tools (ADO, JIRA).

·       Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.

·       Innovative mindset, with the ability to identify efficiency opportunities or process improvements.

·       Familiarity with Python or R for basic analysis or automation (not expert-level).

·       Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

·       Experience supporting stakeholders in prioritizing analytics needs.

·       Exposure to mentoring or supporting peers (not formal leadership).

·       Experience with data management and/or product management.

·       Additional experience with Python for data analysis or automation.

·       Master’s degree in a relevant field (optional, not required).

·       Experience or interest in data management, governance, or foundational data engineering concepts.

·       Familiarity with industry tools such as Qlik, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Alation, SAP, MDG, Stibo, etc.
