Role Summary
This role leads to business transformation and/or major change management initiatives, applying functional expertise to drive results.
This role applies structured methodologies and assessment techniques to ensure effective adoption while minimizing operational disruptions and driving continuous improvement within IT and business environments.
Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, monitors master change and communication plans for large departmental or multi-year initiatives and programs. Contributes expertise and leads a business engagement plan, including ways of assessing readiness and feedback. Secures senior management buy-in across the department/division.
- Provides insight into the best practices and common obstacles based on prior change management experiences. Serves as a trusted advisor to ensure business transformation and/or change initiatives are aligned with the overall company strategy and market conditions.
- Communicates business transformation and change management status and issues regularly to stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal and external stakeholders. Influences key decisions across stakeholder groups.
- Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks and any related issues. Communicates solutions on key issues or projects to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.
- Develop measurement processes for change management success that help business partners do self-assessments based on communicated maturity models.
- Builds and maintains productive working relationships with various project team members, consultants and stakeholders at both the executive and operational level.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Plans and executives change management and process improvement projects across the IT organization.
- Applies methodologies such as communication planning, organizational readiness assessments, and stakeholder analysis to support change adoption.
- Monitors implementation to ensure minimal disruption to normal business operations.
- Acts as a change agent to drive and embed best practices and continuous improvement in IT systems and processes.
- Maintains working knowledge of business processes to identify when software or system changes should be initiated.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in business transformation, change management, or process improvement initiatives. At least three years of hands-on experience in change and communication planning within large-scale transformation programs.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech/BBA/BA) or equivalent combination of education and experience required; graduate degree (MBA or MTech) preferred.
- Good skills to have include change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter), stakeholder engagement, communication planning, organizational readiness assessment, risk mitigation, and metrics-based success evaluation. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and executive communication skills are essential, along with cross-functional collaboration and influencing without authority.
- Experience with IT transformation projects and tools like Prosci, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar change tracking systems is a plus.
- Preferred certifications: Prosci Change Management, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or ITIL Foundation.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, acting as a strategic partner to leadership and a tactical guide to project teams
