Summary:
Provides pharmaceutical care according to professional standards and practices and complies with all Federal and State regulations in the practice of Pharmacy at Virtua.  Clinical pharmacy services to direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit at Virtua Mt. Holly Hospital. Patient population includes medical critical care and surgical critical care patients.   Additional responsibilities to include collaborating with other specialties as needed, providing education to providers and nurses in addition to serving as a resource for drug information; developing guidelines and protocols, education for pharmacy department and clinical departments as needed. Participation in system-wide committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Critical Care Practice Council and others, in addition to precepting pharmacy residents and pharmacy students.


Position Responsibilities:

• Participates in patient rounds (or equivalent) with appropriate individuals including physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
• Evaluates medication prescribing patterns and identifies opportunities for improving drug therapy.
• Drug Use Evaluations
• Provide education to patients/families, and other health care practitioners.
• Participate in medication safety initiatives
• Works within key sub-specialty areas to develop and maintain specific routine monitoring criteria for these patients.
• Represents the Pharmacy Dept. in system wide and divisional committees as needed.

Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or BS and comparable clinical experience.

PGY-1 Pharmacy Required; PGY-2 Critical Care Preferred

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Active New Jersey pharmacy license.

Annual Salary: $124,602 - $199,995 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
