Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Executing sourcing strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products
  • Supporting the Sales team in competitive bidding by driving supplier engagement, negotiating prices and terms, and facilitating supplier selections to strengthen proposals
  • Maintaining visibility of ongoing bids and the supplier base to track supplier participation, enabling strategic negotiations and achieving the most competitive offers
  • Ensuring supplier offers align with project and contractual requirements, covering content, quality, delivery, sustainability, and pricing to secure project success
  • Responsible for handover from sales to project execution from an SCM perspective and leading/participating in supplier kick-off meetings to contribute to project objectives.
  • Managing and developing the local supplier base to ensure only qualified suppliers are engaged during the bidding phase, taking proactive steps to qualify new suppliers when needed


Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, bid management, operations, or commercial project roles.
  • Experience in the maritime or industrial sectors is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multinational environment and adapt to diverse cultures and business practices.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and structured professional who takes ownership and communicates effectively across disciplines
