Position Overview
The Sales Controls & Compliance Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the sales controls framework and compliance standards across direct-to-consumer automotive transactions. This role ensures that all compliance checkpoints, governance controls, and audit processes are embedded throughout the sales transactional journey — covering paperwork, processes, partner and service operations, dealer compliance, and dealer/salesperson licensing. The manager works cross-functionally to drive operational integrity and protect the business through strong controls and governance.

The expected base salary range offered for this role is $108,877-$136,000. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the sales controls framework, setting audit standards across the end-to-end sales journey.
- Establish and continuously improve SOPs for transaction operations and partner performance, conducting audits and driving corrective action to strengthen compliance and operational integrity.
- Ensure adherence across all paperwork, operational processes, and partner or service work.
- Embed controls and checkpoints throughout the sales journey to meet regulatory and internal standards.
- Maintain governance around goodwills, credits, returns, buybacks, and other sales adjustments.
- Own dealer operations standards within the sales journey.
- Manage dealer and salesperson licensing requirements across applicable team members and partners.
- Develop forecasting models and reporting to track trends and audit outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functional finance, accounting, IT, and operational partners to align controls across the business.
- Present executive-level updates, audit findings, and governance reports to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sales compliance, audit, dealer operations, or related fields within direct-to-consumer automotive or OEM environments.
- Direct-to-consumer OEM experience required.
- Dealership operations experience strongly preferred.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from design through execution.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience building audit frameworks, forecasting models, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of sales controls and regulatory requirements across the sales journey.
- Experience with governance frameworks for adjustments such as goodwills, credits, returns, and buybacks.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with finance, accounting, IT, and operational partners.
- Excellent executive presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to senior leadership.
