WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Reporting into the Director, Communications, Southeast Asia & India (SEA&I), and partnering closely with the Principal, Communications in India, this role sits within Nike’s SEA&I Communications team. The Senior Professional collaborates with key stakeholders across Marketing, HR, and other business functions, as well as with communications partners at the geography (APLA) and global levels.
Collectively, the team builds and protects Nike’s brand reputation, engages diverse audiences—from consumers and media to athletes and employees—and focuses on inspiring, informing, and connecting people to accelerate Nike’s growth across Southeast Asia and India.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is seeking a Senior Professional, Communications, SEA&I with deep communications expertise and strong knowledge of the Southeast Asia media, creator, and cultural landscape. A strong understanding of sport—and its influence on sportswear, style, and culture—is essential.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 6 years’ experience shaping and driving communications strategies across one or more Southeast Asian markets. Joining Nike at a pivotal moment for SEA&I, this role requires a self-starter with a proven ability to identify opportunities and translate them into breakthrough communications strategies and tactics.
This individual is a collaborative team player with critical, creative, and solution-oriented thinking, able to manage multiple and competing priorities. A strong strategic instinct is essential, along with the ability to leverage consumer and media insights, trends, and intelligence related to sport, style, and the fitness industry. Cultural curiosity and an open, growth-oriented mindset are key to success in this role.
The successful candidate must have:
A passion and love for sport and Nike
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications or similar area
Strong end-to-end project management skills, including strategic planning, creative ideation, execution, budgeting, and agency management
Extensive experience in corporate communications or public relations roles supporting global organizations
A strong network and the ability to drive corporate and brand storytelling at senior editorial and publisher executive levels
Deep knowledge of current and emerging social media and sports platforms, tools, and technologies, and how to use them effectively to resonate with Gen Z audiences
A current understanding of the intersection of sport, fashion, streetwear, and broader culture within Southeast Asia and beyond
Proven experience developing and executing strategic communications plans that deliver narrative-led storytelling and meaningful engagement with diverse external and internal audiences
Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence across a complex, matrixed organization at both functional and local levels
The ability to learn quickly, adapt, and make sound judgment calls in a fast-evolving environment
Ability to travel, 20–30%
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this fast-paced and diverse role, you will develop and execute strategies and tactics that engage both external and internal audiences, helping shape the positioning of NIKE, Inc. across Southeast Asia. You will also support the efforts of the Principal, Communications in India, as required.
You will:
Craft and execute Southeast Asia–specific mid- and long-term communications strategies, delivering end-to-end project management of narrative-led campaigns and stories that create impact and push the boundaries of communications
Support global communications initiatives on a day-to-day basis, foster strong media relationships, collaborate with local athletes, build comprehensive 360 media plans, create engaging events, seed product innovations, leverage sports marketing assets, and deliver thoughtful employee communication touchpoints
Work across an exciting and varied portfolio—including Basketball, Running, Training, Football, and Cricket—alongside corporate storytelling in an accelerating marketplace
Localize Nike’s voice across markets by working directly on the ground or through agency partners to show up authentically, consistently, and in a distinctly Nike way
Spend time in the field meeting key opinion leaders, connecting with sport and athletes, building and maintaining a robust network, and gathering insights that inform stronger, more relevant work
Engage Nike employees across corporate and retail teams through campaigns, corporate messaging, business updates, purpose-led initiatives, engagement moments, and social and community impact partnerships
Manage Nike’s internal communications channels, ensuring content is relevant, timely, and consistently delivered
Ideate and create communications assets across written, visual, and audio formats
Order and manage seasonal product sustainably for retainer- and project-based seeding, photo shoots, interviews, employee gifting, and PR events
Stay up to date with emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media, and technology
Support the handling of issues and moments to help safeguard company and brand reputation
Travel within SEA&I or globally, as needed, to host media at Nike events—serving as lead host, briefing spokespeople, capturing content, and managing coverage outcomes
Drive communications success across Southeast Asia and India, with primary focus on Thailand, the Philippines, and Singapore, and lighter coverage of Indonesia, Malaysia.
