• The role is expected to provide support to the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance team, with respect to the delivery of the day-to-day delivery of the team’s mandate which may include tasks pertaining to AML and Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) matters.

The role shall work closely with AML Compliance Head and/or Sun Life Philippines Business Unit Compliance Officer (BUCO) to ensure AML and ABAC related tasks are delivered on time and collaborate with the rest of the AML Compliance team towards effective delivery of the AML and ABAC mandates.

The role assists in the overall promotion of adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, statutory requirements and Sun Life’s global compliance framework, policies and standards. Tasks include analysis, investigation, research, report-writing and active participation in the continuous improvement of AML and ABAC Compliance program.

Qualifications (heading) / Compétences (titre)

• At least 4-year university degree graduate
• AML and ABAC certification is a plus but not required
• At least 2-3 years' work experience gained from a financial services company with exposures to AML and/or ABAC programs
• Has done AML and/or ABAC temporary assignments or projects in any financial institutio
• Good understanding of AML and/or ABAC laws or regulations
• Familiar with insurance, asset management and/or investment or trust operations
• Good writing and communication skills
• Proactive, self-reliant and can work under pressure

Responsibilities (heading) / Responsabilités (titre)

• 1. Timely investigates AML transaction monitoring and name screening alerts through the automated AML system

2.  Timely investigates suspicious transactions arising from the alert investigation and/or as received through escalated cases from other business units or departments.

3. Assists the AML Compliance Head or the Sun Life Philippines BUCO on specific tasks and projects as may be assigned from time to time, including ABAC matters.

4. Ensures delivery of all work assignments within the internally set turn-around time and in accordance with all relevant AML and ABAC policies, operating guidelines and procedures or manuals.

5.  Proactively escalates / reports to AML Compliance Head or the Sun Life Philippines BUCO any AML and ABAC concerns, issues or deviations.
