Job Description

Definium Therapeutics, formerly known as Mind Medicine, is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel product candidates to treat brain health disorders. Our mission is to be the global leader in the development and delivery of treatments that unlock new opportunities to improve patient outcomes. We are developing a pipeline of innovative product candidates, with and without acute perceptual effects, targeting neurotransmitter pathways that play key roles in brain health.

Founded in 2019, we are continuously expanding our presence and global footprint. We are constantly searching for high-impact individuals in various clinical, technical and business operations domains to strengthen our team of patient-centric, intelligent individuals.

The Senior Director, Field Market Access is a field-based senior leader responsible for managing a national team of Account Directors focused on gaining and maintaining broad formulary coverage and access for Definium Therapeutics’ products. This individual is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including National and Regional health plans, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and state Medicaid agencies. The role collaborates extensively with internal departments — including Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Patient Services, Pricing & Contracting, and Legal — to incorporate customer insights into pricing, contracting, and market access strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing national team of Account Directors. Set team strategy, establish performance goals, and build a culture of accountability and collaboration. Coach and develop team members to advance their payer engagement capabilities
  • Serve as senior relationship owner for a national portfolio of key payer stakeholders including regional health plans, PBMs, MACs, and state Medicaid agencies. Develop and execute tailored engagement strategies for each customer segment
  • Drive formulary placement, prior authorization criteria optimization, and coverage policy development across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid channels. Monitor the evolving payer landscape and translate intelligence into actionable strategy
  • Serve as the primary conduit for customer insights from the field into the commercial organization. Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Patient Services, and Pricing & Contracting to ensure alignment across all customer-facing strategies. Serve as a subject matter expert on local payers (Medicaid and commercial), including payer needs, policy shifts, and contracting opportunities
  • Independently lead national payer engagement strategies, manage team performance, and make contracting recommendations within established parameters
