Job Description
The Team Lead Accounts Receivable is responsible for managing the AR function within the SSC, including customer invoicing, cash application, and reconciliation. A key requirement is deep familiarity with self-billing processes used by European automotive OEMs and the use of SAP tools such as the self-billing cockpit to monitor and manage these transactions. The role includes leading a local team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in receivables management, and supporting harmonization across business units.
Main Duties
- Lead the AR team within the SSC, including daily operations, performance management, and staff development
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer invoices, credit memos, and incoming payments
- Manage and reconcile self-billing transactions with automotive OEMs
- Use SAP tools such as the self-billing cockpit to monitor and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain customer master data and coordinate with sales and local finance teams
- Monitor overdue receivables and support collection efforts
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to AR
- Participate in process documentation and knowledge transfer during transitions
- Monitor KPIs (e.g. DSO, unapplied cash) and ensure SLA adherence
- Drive continuous improvement and support automation initiatives
- Act as escalation point for complex AR issues, especially related to OEM billing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in Accounts Receivable or related finance functions
- At least 2–3 years of experience in managing a team
Skills
- A team- and service-oriented approach, combined with a strong commitment to delivering high-level performance
- Strong knowledge of AR processes, especially self-billing in the automotive industry
- Proficient in SAP (S/4HANA or ECC), including tools for managing self-billing transactions
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
