About the role
This position is responsible for preparation, application and repair of rubber covers.
Responsibilities:
Setup and operate the rubber milling machines safely, using proper mixing and stripping procedures.
Compound batches accurately, according to procedure.
Make minor adjustments/repairs when necessary.
Maintain quality of product throughout process through proper procedures and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating rules and procedure manuals.
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Feed, or operate the Extruder.
Mixes cements per specification and applies cement to rolls when needed. Notifies when inventory of cements and supplies is low.
Set-up and operate lathes to perform cut-off and rough tool operations.
Ability to operate dial indicators, micrometers, diameter and Pi tapes and other precision measuring instruments.
Ability to properly mount and dismount bearings (& sleeves), size 56 and below. Must assist in mounting bearings over that size.
Prepare time and production records as required.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Operate crane and forklift safely and efficiently.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Must perform work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and safe work area.
Must be able to respond to overtime needs, if required.

Requirements:
A high school education with previous manufacturing experience; ideally a minimum of three to five years’ experience. Knowledge of papermaking machinery a plus, but not required. Willing to work with and train candidates with a high level of initiative and personal motivation.
