Responsible for assisting the Head Men's Basketball Coach in the management of the men's basketball program as they compete competitively in NCAA Division III athletics while providing an educational environment which enhances the development of the whole student-athlete. Additional responsibilities include teaching courses in physical education as well as departmental administrative responsibilities.JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist the head coach in providing leadership and direction for the Men's Basketball program
- Create a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as well as New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and WPI university policies and procedures
- Assist in developing team and individual strategies to create an environment of success through effective teaching of technical and fundamental skills in the areas of basketball
- Assist in recruiting prospective student-athletes committed to academic and athletic excellence
- Establish ways to ensure success for all team members academically, athletically, and socially
- Assist in maintaining a strong connection with the men's basketball alumni group through communication and relationship development
- Assist with managing the program's operating and fundraising budgets
- Teach physical education courses
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience
Salary Grade 4: $44,200 – $45,700 per year (depending on experience)
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
