THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an autonomous, strategic, and flexible mid-level Legal Counsel who will thrive in a high-pressure, high-stakes creative environment. This role will handle deal negotiations for a broad range of creative production projects across Asia-Pacific, clearance of international marketing campaigns, provide practical and business-focused guidance and support to internal business stakeholders as well as working collaboratively alongside our other regional legal teams. This is a role where you’ll report to a Senior Legal Counsel (APAC), partner with the rest of the legal team working across the globe and collaborate with counterparts in other functions (e.g. Finance, HR, Tax, IT/Data and Growth teams).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of legal documents and contracts that bolster our creative production teams in taking on bigger and bolder projects. Your primary focus will be on our MSAs, Statements of Work, RfPs, NDAs, and third party agreements.
- Join negotiations with internal teams and clients on commercial contracts and other legal agreements for our projects to negotiate commercial terms to align with company policies and objectives as well as mitigate potential risks involved with specific contract terms.
- Provide legal support and advice on compliance and clearance matters for all of our projects and campaigns in APAC.
- Work collaboratively with the APAC legal team to create, update and roll out contract policies and commercial/legal strategies to ensure the support of the business as it scales.
- Monitor changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment in the APAC markets, and provide appropriate advice on such changes and developments.
- Liaise with account managers and producers, amongst others throughout the company, to ensure correct implementation of all legal guidelines and other policies, and ensure compliance at all times. You will act as a trusted advisor to the internal stakeholders and make sure that compliance can be ensured.
- Create, maintain, and update internal agreement templates to reflect changes in the company's business and the legal landscape in general.
- Stay current on relevant industry, commercial, IP, privacy, data, employment, and other laws, regulations, and developments to adapt our commercial processes accordingly.
- Help manage our legal administration to keep our day-to-day legal practices up-to-date.
