When attending the job fair, please note:

  • Must be available to work from June 8–July 31.
  • As Job Offers may be presented on-site please bring the following: Driver’s license and original signed Social Security Card. You may also bring any additional I-9 documentation you find necessary.
  • Positions are on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be held.
  • You can be hired for any camp location, regardless of where the job fair event is being held. Park locations include: Colonial Oaks, Laurel, Longwood, Woodmere, Bee Ridge, and Nokomis Community Park.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age as of May 16th, 2026. Must also complete 10th grade by the end of the 2025/2026 school year.
  • For any applicant under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you.

 

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

 

Level II Fingerprinting: This position is subject to passing a Level II Fingerprinting.

 

 

Job Fair Event(s)

DATE: Thursday, April 16

TIME: 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Nokomis Community Park, 235 Nippino Trail E, Nokomis

 

DATE: Tuesday, April 21

TIME: 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Longwood Park, 6050 Longwood Run Blvd., Sarasota  

 

Park locations include: Bee Ridge, Laurel, Longwood, Nokomis Community Park, and Woodmere. (Colonial Oaks and Bee Ridge are fully staffed.)

 

 

Mandatory Training(s)

All camp staff must attend mandatory training. Dates are subject to change.

  • Monday, May 18th: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors’ Training
  • Thursday, May 28th: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (All staff)
  • Friday, May 29th: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (All staff)
  • Monday – Friday, June 1st -5th: Schedules will vary (All Staff)

 

Additional CPR training may be required.

 

 

Work Schedules for All Positions

All camp staff, except specialty/substitute counselors, agree to be available to work full days, Monday through Friday, from June 8th – July 31st, unless specified and approved prior to hire.

  • Optional Mini-Camp Counselor opportunity August 3 - 7 
  • Attending all scheduled training and working 39 full days out of the 44 available camp days between June 8th and August 7th may earn a $100 bonus. Specialty Counselors and Subs are not eligible.

 

Pay Rates

We have four (4) positions available; please note that the pay is non-negotiable.

  • New hires receive the minimum rate.
  • Staff rehired for Summer Camp receive a $0.50/hr pay incentive per year of experience, up to a maximum of $1.50/hr in addition to the base rate.
  • Specialty/Substitute Pay Incentive: $1.50/hr in addition to the base rate.
  • Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors who possess a Professional Florida Educator's Certificate (teachers) receive a $2.00/hr pay incentive. Must bring copy of current teaching certificate.

 

BASE HOURLY PAY RATES:

> Counselor: 1st year $16.00/hr, 2nd year $16.50/hr, 3rd year $17.00/hr, 4th year (or higher) $17.50/hr

> Specialty/Substitute Counselor: 1st year $17.50/hr,, 2nd year $18.00/hr, 3rd year $18.50/hr, 4th year (or higher) $19.00/hr. 40/week is not guaranteed

> Assistant Supervisor: 1st year $17.50/hr, 2nd year $18.00/hr, 3rd year $18.50/hr, 4th year (or higher) $19.00/hr 

> Supervisor: 1st year $19.00/hr, 2nd year $19.50/hr, 3rd year $20.00/hr, 4th year (or higher) $20.50/hr 

 

Job Responsibilities and Minimum Qualifications

Responsibilities for ALL Positions:

  • Have an ability to organize and participate in games, sports, individual and group activities, arts and crafts, theme weeks, special events, field trips, the summer reading program, etc.
  • May assist with providing necessary and appropriate modifications to ensure all children can participate in camp activities. This may include interventions when negative behavior is displayed and helping with corrective actions to reinforce positive behaviors.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age as of  May 16th, 2026 . Must also complete 10th grade by the end of the 2025/2026 school year.

 

College coursework is preferred for all positions but is not mandatory.
