Job Description

The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media buying platform that helps brands deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers –– and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency. We are proud of the culture we have built. We value the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings to The Trade Desk, and we are committed to fostering inclusive spaces where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work every day.

So, if you are talented, driven, creative, and eager to join a dynamic, globally-connected team, then we want to talk!

What we do:

Commercial Operations is comprised of four sub-organizations that work in concert to accelerate revenue growth in a consistent, scalable, data-driven way. We build and maintain the system that enables revenue growth and commercial performance — providing the infrastructure, insight, and partnership that enable The Trade Desk to grow revenue predictably and at scale.

Within Commercial Operations, Commercial Analytics provides the data-driven insights and pipeline intelligence that help commercial leaders make better decisions faster and increase revenue velocity. We partner across Revenue Operations, Business Technology, Client Operations, Sales, Finance, and Client Service to solve critical problems: creating a single source of truth for commercial performance data, extending pipeline visibility, delivering push/pull analytics for in-process and up-for-renewal deals, and building signal-based recommendations through AI and automation that connect decisioning patterns to revenue outcomes.

Why this role matters:

The commercial organization has the data it needs to grow. What it lacks is the analytical layer that turns that data into conviction — the person who looks at a positive headline and asks what it’s hiding, who turns a quarterly trend into a strategic action plan, and who makes senior leaders smarter about what’s actually driving (or threatening) revenue. This role exists to close that gap.

We are seeking an Associate, Commercial Analytics Strategy to own and deliver high-impact analytical projects that drive revenue and uncover new commercial opportunities. This role is a senior individual contributor position that combines deep analytical capability with strategic business judgment. You will translate complex commercial challenges into structured programs, build the stakeholder relationships necessary to drive adoption, and partner with Data Science and technical counterparts to ensure analytical rigor across everything we deliver.

At The Trade Desk, you will sit at the intersection of commercial strategy and data — shaping how the organization identifies growth, evaluates performance, and makes decisions that move revenue. This is a highly visible role with significant exposure to senior Sales, RevOps, and cross-functional leadership.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and deliver high-impact analytical projects that directly drive revenue outcomes and surface new growth opportunities across the commercial organization.
  • Proactively anticipate business needs and advance initiatives aligned with commercial priorities; translate complex datasets into actionable insights that inform go-to-market strategy and account planning.
  • Dig past the surface narrative in data — pressure-test what’s driving a trend, identify what contradicts the expected story, and surface the counternarrative that changes how leadership thinks about risk and opportunity.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Sales Strategy, Training, Product, Finance, RevOps) to align efforts and ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives.
  • Manage multiple interconnected initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment; deliver on time and meet strategic objectives without waiting to be unblocked.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to senior executives on revenue trends, opportunities, and risks; synthesize analytics into clear narratives calibrated for each audience — from VP-level strategic framing to frontline seller action plans.
  • Partner with Data Science and technical counterparts to scope analytical approaches, validate methodology, and ensure strategic questions are framed with quantitative rigor.
  • Influence leadership by proactively seeking and framing opportunities and identifying business risks; establi
