How You Will Make an Impact

As Senior Procurement/Sourcing Specialist, you will serve as the Site Sourcing Lead connecting Site Leadership, Program Management, Tech Transfer, and Division Category Managers. You will turn site and client program needs into source-to-contract actions that improve speed to approved source, strengthen continuity coverage for critical materials and services, and support reliable launches and site operations.

What You Will Do

  • Own the St. Louis site sourcing pipeline for new programs, tech transfers, process changes, launch readiness, and supply risk events; translate site requirements into prioritized sourcing actions and drive timely execution.
  • Lead complex source-to-contract activities for direct materials, single-use consumables, critical services, and other site-critical requirements.
  • Lead RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs; conduct supplier comparisons, commercial analyses, and total-cost evaluations; present award recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Division Category Managers on sourcing strategy, negotiation approach, contract alignment, preferred supplier utilization, and escalation management.
  • Build alternate-source, contingency, and continuity plans for site-critical materials and services; support mitigation and recovery planning for supply disruptions.
  • Lead operational supplier reviews for key site suppliers, including service, responsiveness, continuity, performance trends, and corrective/recovery actions.
  • Coordinate sourcing governance across Planning, QA, MSAT/PD, Manufacturing, QC, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management to align priorities, requirements, and timelines.
  • Support supplier onboarding, implementation, and smooth handoff from sourcing to buying and planning teams for stabilized suppliers, materials, and services.
  • Track and report sourcing KPIs, savings, cost avoidance, risk-reduction actions, and pipeline status to site leadership.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities that reduce sourcing cycle time, improve supplier performance, and minimize program delays tied to supplier selection or onboarding.

How You Will Get Here

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, life sciences, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant procurement/sourcing experience acceptable.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS/ASCM is a plus.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant procurement, sourcing, category management, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience in biopharma, biotech, CDMO, or other regulated GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading competitive bid events, negotiations, and supplier selection.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions, tech transfers, launch readiness, or supply continuity/risk mitigation initiatives preferred.

  • Comfortable operating across direct materials, single-use/process consumables, technical services, and site-critical supply issues.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills; able to work cross-functionally and drive decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong risk-management capability, including alternate-source development, continuity planning, and supplier escalation/recovery management.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications; comfort with KPI tracking, reporting, and presenting recommendations to leadership.
  • Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP/cGMP expectations and supplier onboarding/change control considerations preferred.

Physical Requirements
