About the opportunity

As a Category Buyer for Plastics and Contract Manufacturing, you take ownership of your supplier and product portfolio and ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable supply. In this role, you contribute to category strategies, manage supplier performance, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support operational and strategic procurement goals.

Your tasks include

Prepare purchasing plans for direct materials and services to secure timely supply.
Follow and enforce QIAGEN’s procurement policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
Review, compare, analyze, and approve products and services aligned with category strategy.
Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement and category strategies.
Take full ownership of your portfolio and make decisions for routine procurement activities.
Manage and negotiate supplier relationships, pricing agreements, and contract modifications.
Conduct market research, analyze cost structures, and report outcomes based on KPIs.

Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, project management, or supply chain.
Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders at different levels.
Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities and proactive decision‑making.
Ability to build strong internal and external partnerships.
SAP knowledge is preferred.
