Job Description

The Assistant Hospital Manager (AHM) assists in the development and attainment of unit and organizational goals. Accountable directly to the Director, the AHM directs daily operations, resources, and customer satisfaction along with process and performance improvement. This includes, but is not limited to, the oversight of clinical practice, staffing, supply chain and budget, employee relations, performance management, and performance evaluations, staff education, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.  Above all, the Assistant Hospital Manager is responsible for the most effective use of material, personnel and resources to produce high quality, positive outcomes and value based patient care in a team focused environment. The Assistant Hospital Manager is a hospital leader who empowers teams to embrace and implement change that will improve the clinical, operational, and financial performance. The Assistant Hospital Manager manages patient throughput on assigned shift. Collaborates with physicians, charge nurses and clinical managers to determine appropriate patient placement.  Interfaces with the public for patient and family concerns.  Assistant Hospital Managers may be required to float between campuses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) required.

Master's degree in Nursing or in a health-related field is preferred.

Five (5) years of current clinical experience in an acute care setting (critical care or emergency department experience preferred) OR three (3) years in a Charge Nurse, Assistant Hospital Manager, or Hospital Supervisor role.

Management or leadership experience preferred.

Advanced communication skills in advocacy, negotiation, confrontation and conflict resolution.

License/Certification Requirements:

Current California RN License

BLS and ACLS certification.

Salary Range:

$82.07 - $123.11 USD Hour
