Job Description

Citi Agency Securities Lending (ASL) is a vital part of our Investor Services Business, specializing in facilitating the temporary transfer of securities between lenders and borrowers. This enables beneficial owners to generate incremental income on their portfolio assets by collateralizing these transfers with either securities or cash. Our comprehensive services span account setup, reference data management, trade execution and settlement, robust collateral management, cash re-investment, recall/return processing, asset servicing, and detailed lender/borrower billing. We proudly serve a diverse clientele including Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies, Pension Funds, Public Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and Central Banks.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Securities & Derivatives Senior Analyst to join our dynamic ASL Operations team. This intermediate-level position is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of complex requests, orders, and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating the clearance, settlement, and meticulous investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions, upholding Citi's commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

As a Securities & Derivatives Senior Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Operational Excellence & Problem Solving:

  • Lead Investigations & Resolutions: Drive complex investigations, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions for intricate securities processing challenges, leveraging a deep understanding of industry standards.

  • Execute Core Fund Tasks: Accurately process a range of tasks, including calculating Net Asset Value (NAV), reconciling cash and holdings, and pricing securities.

  • Optimize Workflows: Develop and implement advanced solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of securities processing workflows.

  • Instruction Management: Ensure the timely and accurate issuance of critical instructions, including settlement instructions, to relevant parties.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Supervisory Oversight: Act in a supervisory capacity for specific operational functions, ensuring adherence to procedures and quality standards.

  • Workflow Coordination: Coordinate daily workflow, manage workload distribution, and prioritize tasks to optimize team productivity.

  • Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and assistance to junior staff, fostering their professional development and expertise.

  • Cross-Training Champion: Facilitate cross-training initiatives and conduct skills assessments to build a robust, knowledgeable, and adaptable team.

Strategic Support & Risk Management:

  • Strategic Collaboration: Support management in key initiatives related to risk and control frameworks, audit readiness, technology enhancements, and operating model optimization.

  • New Fund Onboarding: Lead the setup of new funds, serving as the primary analytical and procedural expert for the securities processing team.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a key liaison, fostering seamless communication and collaboration with Lenders, Borrowers, Traders, and Custodians.

  • Risk Management: Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, demonstrating unwavering consideration for Citi's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhere to Policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate/manage control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in securities operations, investment banking operations, or a similar financial services role.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including advanced proficiency in Excel and Access. Experience with macros is a significant plus.

  • Communication Skills: Consistently demonstrate clear, concise, and articulate written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Organizational & Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proactive & Innovative: Proven ability to take initiative, anticipate challenges, and devise creative solutions independently.

  • Leadership & Ownership: Demonstrated capacity to lead, take ownership of training initiatives, and manage projects within your area of responsibility.

  • Problem-Solving & Analytical: Strong problem-solving skills and a robust analytical approach to data and processes.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive and deliver results in a fast-paced environment where meticulous planning and organization are critical for success.

  • Independent & Collaborative: Capable of managing tasks autonomously while also excelling in a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
