The mission is to manage proposal efforts concerning all customers and markets in the Americas and ensure that Group policies and procedures are used appropriately whether the work is externally driven (TPS) (and internally driven (OTF) if required).
Job Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed the company’s safety standards
Comply with E&C Global and Local engineering standards and other industry standards
Being the contact person for sales & the client & support formulating the sales/ proposal strategy
Leading and managing of multinational proposal teams working on proposals where the activities are performed in one or multiple E&C Centers by developing key technical deliverables (scope of work definition, technical specifications, datasheets, risk & benchmark analysis) & associated estimations
Support the development of technically and economically-optimized solutions to meet the demands of the customer, including establishing a sound foundation for project execution
Actively participate in contract negotiations with customers
Assure the integrity of all project solutions and project execution schemes
Ensure that all proposals are reviewed and approved, as appropriate per Air Liquide requirements, before submission to the customer
Tasks
Coordination with the functions of the different centers (e.g., Project Management, Technical/Solution Development, Process, Legal, Commercial Project Management, etc.) to develop a comprehensive/ optimized technical solution with definition of project scope/ engineering hours
Generate the planning of proposal phase including required resources, supervise and actively support the preparation of proposal/ contract documents such as technical scope definitions, commercial contracts,...
Managing the development of the solution – as necessary, initiate site visits, stakeholder brainstorming and scenario development meetings, etc.
Work with Technical / Solution Development team to develop / finalize the proposal design basis and the technical proposal, including technical specification and associated deliverables
Work with Air Liquide’s IP team to ensure the freedom to propose the technical solution
Support and/or lead clarifications / follow-up meetings, as necessary
Organize/ prepare all necessary review meetings & associated documentation (A, B, RB, ERC, etc.)
Supervision of the cost estimate and organize and participate in all estimate reviews, including benchmarking activities undertaken to ensure commercial competitiveness
Being responsible for the quality and the competitiveness of the proposal
Ensure that the customer’s input is reflected in the proposed solution
Interact with key suppliers and Procurement, as necessary, to develop project scope and price information for the proposed technical solution
Ensure the proposal is approved per E&C’s Delegation of Authority prior to customer submittal
Organize/Lead lessons learned discussions following both successful/unsuccessful proposal efforts

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or equivalent in Engineering field required
Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
Experience in business development, including project management and/or proposal and/or innovation management
Minimum 5 years of experience in EPC business, including experience in Process Engineering or Project Engineering or Operating experience related to projects in the fields of Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals & Chemicals
Familiar with plant engineering structures, their business models & competitors and the entire value chain
Strong presentation, communication, and project coordination skills
Ability to interact effectively with customers
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to travel both domestic & international for internal/ external meetings (up to ca 10% time)
Open-minded and solution-driven
Good understanding of the legal & contractual framework, financial risks/ opportunities is an asset
Minimum 5 years experience in Cryogenics Technology field
Minimum 10 years engineering experience
Multicultural teams Coordination between the Project, Proposals, Sales, Estimation and different Product Lines as well as the various disciplines are key to the success of this position.

Notion of French, German language is an asset
Master’s in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or equivalent in Engineering preferred
Previous expatriation in Europe (especially in France or Germany) is an asset
Know-how in ASU and/or SMR and/or ATR and/or CO2 Capture and/or Hydrogen Liquefaction and/or Electrolysis is an asset
