About the position
The oils procurement team has a pivotal role to play by applying the right sourcing strategies, maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensure excellent procurement operations and execution. We are recruiting for a Buyer Liquid oils Europe to deliver world class solutions in buying raw materials and support a sustainable growth of Flora FG!
You operate in the heart of the procurement process for oils and emulsifiers. The primary responsibility of this role is to work together with the procurement manager in overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. You have a valuable role to play to maintain and improve the quality of the right procurement strategies.
You assist in negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers. You work closely together with the Commodity Risk Management team, planning team and Procurement Operations Team to support the contract management process and ensure a flawless contract execution. You also work closely with other functions such as R&D and Project implementation teams to work on value creation and innovation projects.
Also, you will:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing, and quality of goods/services.
- Support contract management processes, including reviewing and drafting contracts, monitoring contract expiration dates, and facilitating contract renewals.
- Act as a key contact for the planning teams regarding in time delivery, quality, and supplier service of oils portfolio.
- Work closely together with the Procurement Operations colleague to develop & maintain supplier KPI scorecards and coordinate supply chain (improvement) projects, both internally and externally.
- Support the procurement team to implement Flora’s sustainability agenda in Edible Oils.
- Manage & solve issues with (key) suppliers, identify root causes and propose improvements.
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
So what does it take to be successful in this role?
You bring a higher professional education/university degree and minimum 2 years of work experience in Procurement or in an affiliated department in the edible oil industry. Bringing experience in ingredients buying and commodity risk management will help you be up and running quickly in the role. Proficiency in English (fluently written and spoken) is required. As a person, you demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills. You show strong analytical and problem solving skills and you can demonstrate high-level Excel skills (e.g. building dashboards and modelling budget).You bring high level of accuracy to the team and as a colleague you’re proactive, a self-starter and excellent communicator. You are persistent in getting things done. You enjoy working in a challenging, fast-moving, and multicultural working environment.
