The principal biostatistician will provide statistical support to health science research projects. This may include collaboration on funding proposal development, advising on study design and data collection and management, as well as data analyses and manuscript and presentation preparation. May oversee other biostatisticians. This particular role integrates pharmacoepidemiology, computational oncology, and health services research to support translational and population based cancer research initiatives.Job Description

• Provide statistical support to health science research projects. This may include collaboration on funding proposal
development, advice on study design and data collection and management, as well as data analyses and manuscript
and presentation preparation.
• Incumbents participate in meetings with study investigators for the purposes of consulting on study design (including
design and modification of data coding, data collection forms, and data management procedures), data analysis plans,
and producing reports during selected long-term projects.
• For data analyses, incumbents independently select appropriate statistical methods, perform necessary analyses, and
report on results. They may also write methods sections for funding applications, as well as methods and results
sections for manuscripts, and may present methods and results either as part of a course or at professional meetings.
Incumbents perform complex professional statistical work, and supervise lower-level statisticians and related personnel,
and perform other related duties as required.
• Incumbents are expected to contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of major study projects, and
independently interact with principal investigators and co-investigators.
• Incumbents may assist in the management of division activities including running staff meetings and managing project
timelines.
Education - Required
• Doctorate in Biostatistics or related field.
Experience - Required
• 4 years of minimum professional Biostatistical experience.
