Moog is seeking a QHSE Engineer to join our Digital Airefield Solutions team based at our site in Luton.

As the QHSE Engineer you will assist the Departmental Manager with the responsibility of developing, implementing and Improving Quality Processes across the organisation. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement and supports operational teams with embedding a strong Quality culture. Assists the Departmental Manager to ensure process optimisation, risk reduction and QMS system performance

You will also have the responsibility of developing, implementing and Improving HSE Processes across the organisation. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement and supports operational teams with embedding a strong HSE culture. Assists the Departmental Manager to ensure process optimisation, risk reduction and HSE system performance. Works closely with Corporate HSE and deputises for Departmental Manager as Site POC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the internal audit program.
  • Conduct Internal Audits for compliance assessment against ISO9001 and Internal Process requirements
  • Support internal & external Audits ensuring timely closure of findings
  • Assist the QRC & SC Manager, whilst working with other department heads, with the production & monitoring of Quality Metrics across functions to identify trends, root causes and improvement opportunities
  • Works with internal personnel to assess root causes of process failures and initiates corrective/preventive action plans
  • Co-ordinate and support on supplier non-performance including return to vendor (RTV) processes
  • Assist Departmental Manager with the implementation of SAP/SOLUMINA changes
  • Develop process and workflow diagrams

Key Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience if possible (training will be given for those without Quality or HSE experience)
  • Strong organisational & analytical skills with attention to detail and commitment to compliance are key requirements for this position
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Be proficient with MS Office
  • Have basic experience or knowledge of H & S (may be from a background other than engineering)
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate at all levels internally, with corporate specialists and with external partners
