The Position

The Professional Technical Services team (Field Service Engineering) in Hungary is a dedicated group of experts committed to delivering high-quality engineering and technical solutions. As part of Roche Diagnostics, the team focuses on creating long-lasting partnerships with healthcare providers by ensuring our diagnostic systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards, ultimately supporting reliable patient results across the country.

The Opportunity

As a Technical Services Project Manager and Team Lead, you will play a dual role that balances high-level project execution with people leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring compliant, professional services for our customers while developing a high-performing team of Field Service Engineers.

In this role, you will split your focus between driving complex technical implementations (60-70%) and mentoring your team (30-40%). You will be the bridge between technical excellence and strategic growth, ensuring our laboratory solutions are delivered seamlessly while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

As a Technical Project Manager (60-70%):

  • You will manage the full project lifecycle for laboratory implementations, from initial tender to handover.

  • You will conduct on-site technical assessments, develop and execute detailed project plans to meet stakeholder expectations, identify and mitigate risks.

  • You will oversee the installation of systems, testing, and reagent applications, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within scope.

As a Team Lead (30-40%):

  • You will lead, coach, and develop a customer-focused, future-ready and high-performing Field Service Engineering team, attract and retain top talent, and foster a continuous learning culture.

  • You will manage resource planning and workload, oversee the business portfolio (SWA, NPC, M&TD), monitor team KPIs and service data to ensure high-quality technical support for Hungarian customers.

Who you are

  • Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record in leading and developing teams, with the ability to motivate others and facilitate professional growth.

  • Technical Expert: You hold a BSc/MSc in Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Mechatronical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, etc) and have 3-5 years of experience in laboratory technology or medical devices.

  • Project Specialist: You are proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with a focus on delivering outcomes in complex, changing environments.

  • Strategic Thinker: You possess a growth mindset and the ability to think at an enterprise level, identifying business development opportunities within the healthcare system.

  • Strong Communicator: You are fluent in Hungarian and proficient in English, with the interpersonal intelligence needed to build sustainable relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Mobile and Flexible: You are willing to work in a field-based environment across Hungary to support our customers where they need us most.

Location: This position is based in Budapest.  Relocation Assistance is not available.
