About the role
Schrödinger, a leader in computational chemistry software and services for materials science and drug discovery, is seeking an ambitious, highly driven, and goal-oriented Sales Development Representative to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.
As a member of the Sales Team you’ll identify, qualify, and develop new software and services leads within a variety of industries (e.g. electronics, industrials, chemicals, pharmaceuticals). Your prospects will include scientists, engineers, departmental management, and senior R&D executives. Additionally, you’ll interact closely with our Marketing, Applications Science, Product Management, Account Management, and senior leadership teams.

What you’ll do:
- Generate and qualify new business leads by researching prospects, conducting outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn, social media)
- Execute 50-100 activities per day (combination of cold outreach)
- Generate a minimum of two sales accepted leads per week (eight per month)
- Collect and collate lead data from sales campaigns
- Drive top-of-funnel activities like prospecting, lead generation, qualification, and pipeline management
- Build initial relationships and educate prospects about the company's value proposition.
- Manage a pipeline of interested prospects and record all activities in the CRM system to track account activities and progress
- Work closely with marketing (for lead quality) and Global Portfolio Leaders (GPLs) (for handoff) to align efforts and grow the sales pipeline, acting as a crucial bridge between marketing and sales.
- Schedule discovery calls or product demos at conferences and tradeshows.
- Research addressable market segments for Schrödinger’s software product and service offerings
- Expand your knowledge of the industry and the competitive position of the company
What you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or a related science
- One to two years of relevant work experience in the software or services industry is preferred
