Senior Engineer - QA

Engineer – Java & TypeScript / Rest Assured & Playwright (3–4 years)  

About the Role  

The Junior Automation Test Engineer supports automation development, manual validation, and quality activities across the delivery cycle. The role focuses on learning and contributing to automation frameworks, writing clean test scripts, and performing structured test execution.  

Required Skills  

• Expertise in API manual testing using Postman, ARC or other clients. 

• Good understanding of Java, Js/TypeScript, API automation (RestAssured) and exposure to Playwright.  

• Ability to develop and execute test scripts.  

• Familiarity with test frameworks (TestNG/JUnit) and version control (Git).  

• Knowledge of basic QA concepts, SDLC/STLC.  

• Basic API testing knowledge using API client like Postman 

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.  

• Exposure to AI-driven test generation tools.  

Responsibilities   

• Requirement Understanding  
  Work with PO and senior team members to understand acceptance criteria and translate them into high-quality test cases.  

• Automation Script Development  
  Contribute to building automation scripts using Java/TypeScript + RestAssured/Playwright under guidance.  

• Manual + Automation Execution  
  Execute functional tests, maintain regression scripts, and support sprint automation.  

• Defect Logging & Reverification  
  Log defects with proper steps, screenshots, and logs; collaborate with developers during retesting cycles.  

• Jira Updates & Documentation  
  Keep test cases, execution logs, and story status updated consistently.  

• Support UAT  
  Validate UAT results, clarify test data and scenarios, and ensure smooth business testing cycles.  

• Learning & AI Adoption  
  Use GitHub Copilot or similar tools to learn patterns, accelerate script writing, and document test flows.  

• Soft Skills 

Strong communication, learning mindset, reliability, and collaboration 

Qualifications  

• 3–4 years of overall QA experience with at least 1–2 years of automation exposure.  

• Strong interest in becoming a full-stack automation engineer.
