Job Description

As Marqeta’s  Settlement Senior Analyst, you will ensure financial integrity and trust across our global payments ecosystem by leading transaction processing controls and funds movement operations for our customers, bank partners, and networks. The Settlement Controls organization operates at the core of our business, guided by the mantra: Ensure all program funds are in the right place, at the right time, for the right purpose. In this role, you will scale the Settlement Controls Team by implementing efficient processes, deploying automated tools, and building controls that ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.

  • Daily Program Funding Compliance: Track and report Customer Program Deposits accurately and timely while maintaining intraday funding balance oversight, escalating issues promptly when needed and monitoring banking activities for irregularities to ensure data integrity across all transaction sources.
  • Drive operational excellence: Create comprehensive process documentation while identifying control gaps, partnering cross-functionally to develop targeted solutions, and supporting critical month-end close activities.
  • Support system evolution: Define business requirements while developing comprehensive test plans, validating new processes and systems, and collaborating with Engineering, Product, Data & Insights teams to resolve bugs and enhance reconciliation capabilities.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on settlement controls: Serve as a go-to resource for the team while providing backup support for ad hoc cross-departmental needs.
  • Process Improvement & Controls: Lead continuous improvement efforts by enhancing reconciliation procedures, implementing robust internal controls for compliance, driving process automation initiatives, and delivering strategic recommendations that optimize cash management and treasury operations.
