How you will create an impact

 

  • This role will develop and monitor the A&H UW strategy, driving high performance within the profit center.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining locally product underwriting manual standards, guidelines, and procedures in all Personal Lines products.

  • Support underwriters on portfolio management, determining appropriate corrective actions, identifying growth strategies as well as right pricing accounts that are critical to optimize profitability;

  • Manage and oversight of product development for all A&H products, both new and renewal/updated products

  • Direct accountability for the underwriting results with respect to profitability, business mix aligns with pricing assumptions and loss ratio of all risks classifications

  • Manage relationship with all relevant stakeholders, i.e. legal, compliance, regulatory and actuarial

  • Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes

  • Provides strategic coaching to each member of A&H Team  in order to increase internal and external visibility, enhance his or her management skills, improve performance, and collaborate & support on his or her career development. 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • Senior Experience as Manager of Personal Insurance industry (Mandatory A&H Products, including P&L responsibility).

  • Underwriting experience and sales skills including: Large case underwriting, logical analysis, coherent documentation of decisions, product development expertise, rate analysis, portfolio management skills including P&L management, segment analysis and developing fact-based recommendations.

  • Knowledge of Partnerships Affinity including metric analysis, deal structure, profitability analysis and Individual products used in Affinity programs

  • Proof experience in leading Complex projects interacting with IT, Legal, Operation, Finance, Actuarial and Clients;

  • Understanding of reinsurance placement

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and influencing skills and proven ability to collaborate and work across multiple areas of the organization

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Detail oriented, problem solving ability

  • Knowledge of market segmentation

  • Discipline to execute business strategies

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of Organization and external business partners.

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent

  • Advanced English Skills / Spanish desirable
