Position Summary
We are seeking a Planning and Delivery Leader to join our team in Japan. In this role, you will act as the primary interface between Rolls-Royce and our designated suppliers, ensuring seamless material availability to support production and overhaul schedules.
You will play a critical role in supplier management, material planning, capacity alignment, and cross-functional collaboration. This position contributes directly to program delivery performance, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
What you will be doing:
- Serve as the primary interface between Rolls-Royce and designated suppliers for the planning and delivery of purchased components.
- Ensure materials are available to meet production and overhaul schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Lead supplier performance reviews, resolve delivery issues, and implement recovery plans as needed.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to support program objectives.
- Analyze material requirements using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to generate accurate purchase orders.
- Monitor and track supplier schedules, lead times, and capacity to align with changing business demand.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, optimize inventory, and enhance delivery performance.
- Support onboarding of new suppliers or parts by coordinating initial orders, planning data, and logistics setup.
- Ensure compliance with company processes and standards, including Export Control and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.
Position requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within aerospace, automotive, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of MRP systems (SAP or equivalent) and supply planning principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural and matrix organization.
- Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese is required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in supplier technical assurance within aerospace or related industries.
- Familiarity with Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS), DMAIC, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with SAP ERP or similar enterprise planning systems.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, parts procurement, or supplier development practices.
- Project management experience or certification (PMP, Lean Six Sigma) is an advantage.
- Exposure to global supply chains and international supplier networks.
- Japanese language capability and right to work in Japan (applications without this eligibility will not be considered).
