Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager - Care, this Software Engineer II will be a full-time role instrumental in executing on the team’s ambitious vision. You will contribute by building a unified set of AI-powered servicing tools that automate toilsome work and enable self-service. You will work closely with our Product and Engineering leadership to execute on deliverables, as a part of a collaborative team creating the products that transform mental healthcare for the better.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation to be in the office 2–3 days per week at our 2 Embarcadero Ctr. location. Candidates must be based in the San Francisco metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on-sites.
What you’ll do:
- Design and build scalable full-stack services using Ruby on Rails & React
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve the Care Support experience
- Expand and maintain existing web applications and infrastructure
- Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Provide technical leadership in architectural discussions, code reviews, and system planning
- Advocate for high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and observability
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
- Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholder
- Break down ambiguous or complex requirements into manageable, shippable units
- Propose and execute infrastructure or tooling improvements
- Champion observability, performance, or platform reliability improvements
- Drive technical and architectural discussions within the team
What success looks like:
- Deliver projects on time, within scope, and with high stakeholder satisfaction
- Maintain high system uptime and low defect rates through strong testing and observability practices
- Partner effectively with product, design, data, or other teams, contributing meaningfully to team goals and alignment
- Complete tasks independently, resolve issues proactively, and accurately track personal work
- Contribute to improved team velocity through planning, estimation, and delivery best practic
