About the role
The Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital invites applications for a faculty position within the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
This newly created position is part of the departmental strategic plan to grow pharmacogenomic research at St. Jude within the next 5 years. With substantial institutional commitment in resources and space, this initiative aims to expand and accelerate research into the genomic basis of inter-patient variability in drug efficacy and toxicity. We are particularly interested in candidates who focus on 1) experimental modeling of drug toxicity, 2) mechanistic studies of drug-induced tissue damage, and 3) the development and/or application of functional genomics techniques to investigating drug toxicity traits.
The mission of the department is to generate new knowledge to advance pharmacotherapy and provide the best patient care for children with catastrophic diseases. Currently the Division of Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences has 12 investigators, including two members of the National Academy of Medicine, with over $6M in NIH funding annually. The division also houses the Center for Translational Pharmacology, the Pharmacotyping Resource, and the newly created Center for Pharmacogenomics.
Faculty members at St. Jude are provided with generous institutional support, e.g., salary, research operating budgets, and support staff positions, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and needs. Faculty rank is open to negotiation and dependent upon a candidate’s CV and overall record of accomplishments.

Successful candidates should have a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology or a related discipline or clinical doctorate (PharmD, MD) and appropriate post-doctoral training.
