About the role

Tech Lead – Data Analytics

Role Purpose:

The Tech Lead – Analytics is the technical owner of analytics solutions delivered by the Analytics CoE.
The role is responsible for end‑to‑end technical design, delivery quality, scalability, and governance of analytics products, while partnering closely with Product Managers and Business Analysts.

The Tech Lead ensures that analytics solutions are built the right way, aligned to business intent, and compliant with Analytics CoE standards, while enabling predictable and high‑quality delivery across pods by building high‑performing, continuously improving teams

 

Functional & Domain Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or BI solutions
  • Strong domain exposure in any of the areas like Order to Cash, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, or Operations, Procurement, MM, MDM etc.
  • Manufacturing Industry domain experience preferred.
  • Experience delivering enterprise‑scale analytics solutions

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands‑on experience with: SAP Analytics, SAP BW HANA, Data Warehousing
  • Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Snowflake)
  • SAP, Salesforce, or any other ERP Data experience and knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of: Data modelling and semantic layers Analytics architecture and integration patterns
  • Experience with BI front end platforms (Power BI, Looker, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
  • SQL and Python knowledge is preferred.
  • Support complex data analysis, troubleshooting, and solution rationalization
  • Guide teams in modern analytics and data engineering practices

 

Role Responsibilities:

Analytics Technical Solution Ownership

  • Own the end‑to‑end technical design of analytics solutions within assigned pods or products
  • Define future‑state analytics architecture, including data flows, integration patterns, and semantic layers
  • Review and approve data models, pipelines, and reporting architectures
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, performant, reusable, and maintainable

Partnership with Product Managers & Business Analysts

  • Partner with Product Managers to align technical execution with product vision and roadmap
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into:
    • Technical designs
    • Sprint‑ready user stories
    • Clear acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with Business Analysts to clarify KPI logic, data definitions, and analytical intent

Technical Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Enforce Analytics CoE technical standards, design principles, and best practices
  • Review code, data pipelines, and models to ensure quality, consistency, and correctness
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, lineage, and governance
  • Own technical sign‑off for releases and production readiness

Delivery Leadership & Execution

  • Act as the technical leader within analytics delivery pods
  • Lead sprint planning, estimation, sequencing, and dependency management from a technical standpoint
  • Own technical delivery commitments, risks, and mitigation plans
  • Communicate timelines, risks, and trade‑offs to Product and CoE leadership

Hands‑On Analytics & Data Expertise

  • Provide deep hands‑on guidance across: SAP BW / HANA / S/4 data models ETL / ELT pipelines Cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Support complex data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Deconstruct and rationalize existing analytics solutions when required

Stakeholder Communication & Cross‑Team Coordination

  • Act as the technical interface to business stakeholders, IT, and platform teams
  • Explain technical decisions and constraints in business‑friendly language
  • Coordinate with architects, platform teams, and upstream system owners

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead, mentor, and develop analytics engineers, BI developers, and data engineers
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and regular feedback
  • Support skill development plans aligned to Analytics CoE capability needs
  • Foster a culture of ownership, learning, and engineering excellence
  • Set clear expectations for team members aligned to delivery goals and quality standards
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide structured development feedback
  • Identify skill gaps and work with CoE leadership on training or hiring needs
  • Recognize and reward strong technical and delivery contributions
  • Plan and manage team capacity across sprints and releases
  • Support staffing decisions for pods and projects
  • Balance delivery commitments with sustainable team workload
  • Onboard new team members and ensure smooth integration into pods
  • Promote collaborative, product‑oriented ways of working
  • Encourage adherence to Agile and DevOps practices
  • Foster strong collaboration between engineering, BA, product, and platform teams
  • Act as a role model for technical ownership and professional conduct
