Job Title: Clinical Nurse Leader
Department: Med/Surg - 2 West
Location: Newark Wayne Hospital
Hours Per Week: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Schedule: A mix between Day/Evening (7am-7pm) and Evening/Night (7pm-7am), rotating weekends and holidays

As a Clinical Nurse Leader, your strong ability to lead and clinical expertise serve as valuable resources for staff mentoring and delivery of quality patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership & Management. Assume responsibility for overseeing nursing and non-nursing personnel on a unit; function as a unit leader with the ability to act as a resource (both clinically and non-clinically) for nursing personnel, physicians and providers; delegate appropriate responsibilities to assigned nurses and ancillary personnel; assess clinical expertise of nursing personnel, monitor assignments and provide feedback and documentation
- Patient Care. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patient; demonstrate clinical judgment in responding to priority patient needs; communicate and document assessment of patient; develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; communicate with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team; ensure patient receives and understands education specific to their needs and abilities
- General Management. Perform daily leader rounding and assure team members are regularly rounding on all patients; develop programs and strategies to monitor the quality of patient care and patient outcomes; assist Nurse Manager in developing and implementing long-term staffing pattern, personnel needs, budget negotiation and recruitment plan
