Graver Technologies has an immediate opening for a Chemist (Adsorption Media) for our Ecosorb® business based in Glasgow, DE.
Our target candidate will be a hands-on chemist who is highly motivated to support continued innovation and evolution of the Ecosorb® product line, with a primary focus on R&D, applications testing, and customer technical support. The successful candidate will be a key technical resource for developing new products and process improvements, troubleshooting technical issues in the production plant, and supporting customer growth through laboratory testing, application development, and field-facing technical collaboration.
Ecosorb® is a mixed adsorption media used primarily in the sugar industry for removing color bodies and odor compounds.
This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Support innovation for the Ecosorb® business through hands-on laboratory work, product improvement, new application development, and execution of R&D priorities.
- Work collaboratively with field sales, technical service, and customers to identify application needs and design laboratory experiments that support customer applications and commercial growth.
- Develop and execute lab testing protocols to evaluate Ecosorb® performance in customer-specific applications, including color, odor, and contaminant removal challenges.
- Provide technical applications support for customer trials, product recommendations, troubleshooting, and interpretation of laboratory and field data.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in manufacturing as needed and collaborate with process engineering and production to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document experimental results, technical findings, and application recommendations in a clear, actionable format for internal and customer-facing use.
- Ensure safe and healthy working conditions and an organized laboratory work environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related technical field.
- Knowledge and experience supporting R&D projects, laboratory testing programs, and technical application development.
- Strong understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and translating lab results into practical customer or manufacturing recommendations.
Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in related chemistry, R&D, applications, or product development.
- Hands-on experience with adsorbent media, filtration, ion exchange, or related separation technologies; sugar industry experience is highly preferred
- Experience working independently in a laboratory environment and managing multiple technical projects or priorities
- Experience supporting customers, commercial teams, or field trials through laboratory testing and technical recommendations preferred
