Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Software Engineer Simulation Eurofighter (d/f/m)

At Airbus Defence & Space we are developing high fidelity Eurofighter Engineering and Training Simulators for a variety of applications over the entire development lifecycle. At the core, our Simulations are distributed real-time applications. We are looking for a Software Engineer for design, development and integration of models in flight simulation. You will be working in an international team, located in Manching, Germany.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Derive system requirements from operational requirements for new simulator functionalities for Engineering and Training Simulation Systems

  • Design architecture of software modules for new simulator functionalities

  • Develop Simulation models representing aircraft equipment within the simulation (mainly C++)

  • Create and perform unit tests of Software modules

  • Create tools for improving our development processes (e.g. code generators)

  • Integrate models into the aircraft simulation (C++/Ada)

  • Perform integration testing

  • Documentation of the appropriate software modules

  • Module responsibility for dedicated subsystems

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline with more than 3 years of experience

  • Experience in software design & testing

  • Experience in unit, system testing and software integration

  • Agile Development Methodologies desired

  • Good knowledge of tools / technologies:
    - C/C++
    - ADA desirable
    - Scripting languages (Bash, Python)
    - Linux (Debian, SLES, RHEL)
    - Continuous Integration & Continuous build system (Jenkins)
    - Software version control (Git)
    - Communication Protocols & Frameworks (TCP/IP, GRPC, UDP, DIS, HLA)

  • Previous experience with the Eurofighter aircraft is a plus

  • Very good English level (written and spoken) is required
