About the role
Application Engineer – Automotive MCU (2027 NCG Campus Hire)
Location: Shanghai / Chongqing, China
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leading automotive customers, field application engineers, marketing, and sales teams to understand system requirements and support application development based on NXP automotive MCU solutions.
- Participate in the development of embedded software, evaluation platforms, reference designs, application notes, and technical collateral for automotive applications.
- Assist customers in debugging, integration, and technical issue analysis related to MCU hardware, software, and automotive systems.
- Support technical workshops, customer trainings, and internal knowledge-sharing activities.
- Explore and evaluate emerging automotive technologies and application trends, including automotive safety, security, zonal architecture, and vehicle networking.
- Work closely with global engineering teams to help customers accelerate development and successfully adopt NXP solutions.
- Build technical expertise in automotive microcontrollers, embedded systems, and software platforms through project experience and continuous learning.
Basic Requirements
- 2027 graduate in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Microelectronics
- Computer Science
- Embedded Systems
- Automotive Engineering
- Software Engineering
- or related disciplines
- Solid fundamentals in embedded systems and programming.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas are highly preferred:
- Microcontrollers (MCU), SoC architecture, and on-chip peripherals
- Embedded C/C++ software development
- RTOS, device drivers, interrupt handling, multi-core systems, or operating systems
- Automotive software and standards, including:
- AUTOSAR
- Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
- Automotive Cybersecurity
- In-Vehicle Networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Hardware design, debugging, and lab instrumentation
- Software development tools such as Git, IDEs, debuggers, or scripting languages (Python preferred)
- AI applications in embedded or automotive systems
- Technical presentations, competitions, research projects, or open-source contributions
