Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their Algorithmic Test Engineering team in Budapest, Hungary. This is a software engineering-focused role where you’ll build and maintain automated tests for algorithmic trading systems and CI pipelines.

You’ll work primarily in Python and contribute to automation frameworks, test diagnostics, and AI-assisted development using tools such as GitHub Copilot. This role offers hands-on experience in a regulated, high-performance engineering environment while developing strong testing and software engineering fundamentals.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python
• Perform manual and automated testing across algorithmic trading systems
• Support CI/CD pipeline testing and automation improvements
• Document test execution results and log defects accurately
• Review and analyze technical and project documentation
• Collaborate with developers, production support, and business analysts
• Raise and escalate risks, defects, and issues appropriately
• Assist with AI-assisted test development and automation diagnostics
• Contribute to improving test frameworks and testing best practices

Requirements

• Basic programming knowledge in Python (preferred) or Java
• Exposure to SQL, UNIX, XML, and Excel
• Understanding of software testing or QA concepts
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall development methodologies
• Exposure to API testing concepts
• Experience using JIRA or similar tracking tools
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Fluent English (spoken and written) 
• Bachelor's degree (STEM or IT-related preferred, all considered)
• Strong motivation to build a long-term career in technology

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., SOAP UI)
• Experience with Git or version control systems
• Interest in financial services or trading systems
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Additional scripting knowledge (Shell, Python)
