The Manager of Pricing and Analytics plays a leadership role in driving data driven insights and modeling to deliver profitable growth and consumer value through the power of analytics. Reporting to the Director, this role is a subject matter expert, leading a team of analysts and
partnering closely with Merchandising, Finance, Planning to deliver actionable insights, and recommendations to drive pricing decisions. The role requires both strong analytical acumen coupled with team leadership and influence.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver Pricing Insights & Category-Level Recommendations
Partner with Merchants to support pricing decisions at the category and item level, aligning to broader pricing strategies and guardrails.
Analyze competitive pricing, elasticity, and customer behavior to identify risks and opportunities on an ongoing basis and to support category resets.
Support the evolution of pricing frameworks such as KVIs, price roles, and store zone segmentation.
2. Lead Analytics, Modeling, Reporting & Insight Delivery
Lead the development and maintenance of pricing analytics; including existing impact analysis, index reporting, elasticity, markdown optimization
Help lead the evolution of existing toolset to uplevel Family Dollar pricing to best in class
Own end-to-end insight generation, from data extraction and modeling to reporting and visualization.
Develop and enhance existing reporting and tools, inclusive of executive-level reporting to track pricing performance and drive decision making
Identify gaps in current analytics and reporting; innovate new approaches to measure price performance and customer perception.
3. Influence Cross-Functional Decision Making
Lead pricing-related discussions for assigned categories or lines of business, providing fact-based perspectives.
Drive alignment across stakeholders by clearly communicating trade-offs, risks, and opportunities.
4. Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team
Manage, coach, and develop a team of pricing analysts.
Set clear priorities, ensure high-quality output, and foster a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
Elevate team capabilities in analytics, storytelling, and business acumen.
5. Support Pricing Strategy Execution & Continuous Improvement
Support the Director in refining pricing approaches and testing new strategies.
Contribute to a test-and-learn environment by evaluating pilots and measuring impact.
Help identify process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and speed of insight delivery.

Skills & Competencies
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate large, complex datasets into clear, actionable business insights.
Experience with large datasets, applying analytical techniques such as trend analysis, elasticity, and performance measurement.
Proficiency in data tools and technologies, including:
Advanced Microsoft Excel
SQL for data extraction and manipulation
Experience with BI and visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
Strong data storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize analysis into clear, compelling narratives and influence cross-functional partners and leadership.
Effective business partnership, influence and leadership skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Planning, and Finance teams, and in addition develop and mentor own pricing analyst team.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or related field
Experience: 3-5 years of decision support experience; specific experience in retail pricing a plus
Software: Advance proficiency with MS Excel, general proficiency with MS Office application (Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in the areas of Business, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field
· Experience applying qualitative and statistical methods, conducting research projects, and preparing reports.
· Experience in retail and/or pricing industry
· Experience presenting to senior leadership
