WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Enterprise Architecture Team within RBC’s Technology & Innovation division, is a key enabler of the bank's digital transformation strategy. Our architecture practice plays a critical role in ensuring technology investments are aligned, resilient, secure, and fit-for-purpose across our entire portfolio. A core mandate of this role is the ownership and continuous improvement of the bank's Application Portfolio Management (APM) program and solution certification platform — critical capabilities that provide visibility into the health, cost, risk, and strategic alignment of the bank's application landscape across all lines of business. You and your team will also ensure appropriately designed internal control measure effectiveness of key governance platforms and solutions.
As the Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture, you will be a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team, supporting and maturing governance practices throughout suite of Enterprise Architecture platforms including our Application Portfolio Management (APM), Solution certification platform and others, ensuring alignment with Technology Governance Framework.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of all applications within the organization, including documentation of application functionality, technology stacks, and business capabilities
- Contribute to and maintain technology frameworks and portfolio management by modernizing standards, removing duplication and legacy assets, redefining IT components and improving approval and governance
- Assist in product development and develop requirements to ensure automation of compliance evidence, reducing friction, integrating with IT Risk Framework and streamlining approval workflows
- Develop and track key operating indicators to measure the effectiveness of the application portfolio and and other Enterprise Platforms providing regular reports to stakeholders.
- Continuously assess and improve APM (Application Portfolio Management) processes, tool, and methodologies to ensure they remain effective and efficient
- Ensure data quality across suite of Enterprise Architecture products
- Participate in the solution design sessions with Product Owners, Project Managers and Tech Leads
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- Minimum of 7 years of technical leadership management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent financial services or fintech experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in IT Governance, Risk or Compliance functions.
- Familiarity of relevant regulatory frameworks (OSFI B-13, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI DSS) .
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities with a passion to define team operating models.
- A strong understanding of technology for the financial industry.
- Ability to lead/influence others and build credibility/trust.
- Results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while managing a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Nice-to-have:
- Background in IT Risk and Regulatory for a Financial Institution.
- Executive/Stakeholder communication experience.
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
- Iterative and Agile Delivery experience.
