Role Overview

As the Strategy & Business Operations Manager for Fashion, you’ll help drive measurable growth across US Fashion categories by turning ambiguous problems into structured insights and executable plans. You’ll partner across Category, Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Ops to run strategic projects, build performance reporting, and drive cross-functional follow-through.

This is an ideal role for an ex-consultant who wants to operate—someone who can combine structured thinking with real execution. Price/value competitiveness is one of the levers you’ll help drive, alongside selection, conversion, seller activation, and trust signals.

What you’ll do

  • Lead strategic projects: Identify key growth constraints (selection, price/value, conversion, seller activation, trust), size the opportunity, and support cross-functional plans with clear owners, milestones, and success metrics.

  • Build and run the “scoreboard”: Establish recurring performance reporting and insights (including value competitiveness—price + shipping + promos) and use it to drive decisions.

  • Translate insights into action: Partner cross-functionally to execute levers such as promo strategy, pricing guidance, shipping/value improvements, merchandising changes, seller programs, and product enhancements.

  • Support operating cadence: Help run the business rhythm (weekly/monthly reviews, initiative tracking, decision logs, exec updates) to drive accountability and speed.

  • Use AI-enabled capabilities: Apply AI tools/workflows to improve analysis speed and quality, and identify opportunities where AI can unlock incremental impact for Fashion.

  • Create executive-ready narratives: Produce crisp readouts for leaders—clear “so what,” options, tradeoffs, and asks.

What you bring

  • Management consulting background (required): Strong structured problem solving and communication; demonstrated ability to translate ambiguity into clear recommendations.

  • Proven AI experience: Hands-on experience using GenAI/ML with measurable outcomes (automation, model-driven workflows, experimentation, analytics, or product features).

  • Operator mindset: You don’t stop at insights—you drive alignment and follow-through across teams that don’t report to you.

  • Analytical strength: comfort with large/ complex datasets, experimentation, and causal thinking (SQL/BI tools a big plus). comfortable with messy data and ambiguous problem spaces.

  • Ecommerce fluency: Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and customer value perception; can reason about price + shipping + promos, conversion, supply, and trust.

  • Exposure to price/value levers: Experience with price benchmarking, promo strategy, marketplace economics, or shipping-inclusive value (depth not required).

  • Influence without authority: Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive outcomes cross-functionally.

  • Nice to have: Fashion and/or re-commerce experience

Travel: Willingness to travel up to ~20–30% (as needed)
Location: San Jose, CA
