Job Description:

The University of Northern Iowa’s School of Public Affairs and Service seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor of Political Science to teach the three-credit course POLSCI 3141 Constitutional Law in the fall semester beginning August 24, 2026. Responsibilities include teaching this course on campus from 6:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a face-to-face class taught on campus so remote work is not available for this position. The course examines the powers of the federal government, separation of powers, and federalism, primarily through analysis of U.S. Supreme Court decisions. It is an elective within the Legal Studies minor and an important course for pre-law students.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in political science or related field, or a J.D. required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of effective teaching at the university level.
