About the role

To lead the Trade Marketing Plan and execution of Oral Health or OTC Indochina; in delivery of competitive advantage through compelling shopper & Customer-centric execution, which drives category growth through our brands.

Trade Marketing Manager will leverage Haleon global category strategies; deeply understand LOC shopper/ customer insight to apply & gain strong influence over the execution of Haleon categories in-store.

Through strong understanding of Shopper and Customers, she/he will design and execute tailored Shopper and Customer initiatives which engage them in our brands and drive conversion along the purchase journey. Work closely with Cross functions to deliver business objective.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic planning:

  • Category & Channel Initiatives: Initiate and lead Channel Strategy that aligned with the company business plan. Ensure that the annual business and the Marketing Activity Calendar is translated into customer/channel specific activities.
  • Distribution and Assortment: Together with BD team to drive distribution & Assortment opportunities
  • Sales FCTs: Build Sales FCT for focus channels base on TMKT calendar and company objective
  • Pricing & Promotion: Design & execution promotional strategies; framework for key brands to maximize value and competitiveness.
  • All BTLs activities: Initiative and lead all BTL activities such as POSM; perfect store programs; shopper activation; Pharmacist education plans.
  • Shopper Insights and Communication: Uncover shopper insights and craft compelling shopper communications.
  • Portfolio Management: Drive portfolio and price pack architecture principles to optimize assortment and profitability in key channels.
  • Business Planning: Lead the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) & Annual Business planning (ABP)
  • Budget & P&L Ownership: Define and manage the trade marketing budget and co-own the P&L with the brand team for assigned categories.
  • Comex Initiatives: Work Close with Area Comex team to deliver all initiatives (Trax; PPA; shopper understanding and Instore Optimization…).

Execution management

  • Ensure that all trade activities are executed on time and within budget.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvement for Trade activities.
  • Work closely with MKT, BD, finance, regulatory, quality and supply chain teams to deliver seamless customer & shopper-focused initiatives (ex: distribution & assortment; trade selling story, customer training, product catalogue….)
  • Proactively work with Area Comex Team to learn and get support if needed. In charge of preparing activities STP, Memo and get approval from relevant internal and external parties for all activities.
  • Work with Procurement to manage third parties to execute BTL activities as per timeline and plan.
  • Other work required to deliver Trade Marketing KPIs

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Commercial major
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in trade marketing including development of category strategies. Ideally in an FMCG or FMCH environment.
  • Strategic, creative and analytical thinker
  • High level of understanding of customer and brand strategy
  • High level of understanding of customer/ shopper behavior
  • Being a compelling seller and stakeholder influencer
  • Excellent communicator and presenter
  • Strong creative skills – demonstrated track record of developing innovative marketing or sales programs
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strategic thinking and Vision: Ability to create and communicate a compelling future vision based on a blend of robust data/trend analysis and visionary thought leadership
  • High technical competence: Business acumen and cross- functional leadership – Robust understanding of consumer marketing and sales processes with a proven ability to lead the trade marketing agenda in a cross functional working environment
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrates a clear understanding of senior leadership and customer strategy, needs, decision making criteria and timelines. Drives business focus on meeting those needs in a profitable way
  • Channel expertise: Thorough understanding of all trade channels and differences in shopper mission. Ability to use this understanding to develop business channel strategy
  • Financial Acumen: Robust P&L understanding and ability to manage and deploy departmental budget for optimal, evaluated return on investment.
