About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join our Energy Industries team. You will lead power system engineering solutions for our Excitation Systems business line, including advanced power system analysis, Grid Code Compliance studies, and onsite commissioning. You will serve as the technical lead for medium complexity projects, managing engineering teams of 5–25 members while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and within contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering teams across multiple disciplines for power system projects.
- Act as design authority, reviewing and approving engineering deliverables for safety, security, and quality compliance.
- Perform advanced power system analysis and Grid Code Compliance studies.
- Support project installation, commissioning, and site activities.
- Work with customers, contractors, and stakeholders to shape solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Develop project proposals, conduct risk analysis, and manage engineering changes.
- Coach and mentor project engineers on design development and engineering best practices.
- Ensure alignment with safety, cybersecurity regulations, and contractual obligations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a power system engineer with expertise in grid modelling and excitation systems.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, synchronous machines, and control theory.
- Proficiency with power system simulation tools (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, or equivalent).
- Experience leading engineering teams on complex projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
